Charles consults with many domestic and international companies in a variety of Human Resources areas.  His diversity and team building consulting practice incorporates his extensive experiences in compensation planning and administration, performance management, recruitment, career planning, management succession as well as matters related to equal and fair employment opportunity.

Charles has worked with major corporations and foundations in strategic planning and effective program implementation in a wide area of services including education and training.  His domestic and international clients have included: AmerenUE, American Greetings, Forest City, Cleveland Metroparks, Ashland University, BAE Systems, Inc., Educational Housing Services, Inc., Sterling Jewelers, FutureWork, Inc., Cleveland Clinic, Children’s Hospital and Medical center of Akron, and St. Ann’s Hospital.

Charles was a human resources manager at Exxon Chemical Company and Exxon Chemical Technology Department where he was responsible for all domestic and expatriate employment matters before joining Towers Perrin and rising to the level of Vice President and Partner.

Charles earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois; his Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania; and his doctorate from Cleveland State University.

Charles has authored or co-authored articles on performance management, recruitment and diversity and is a frequent speaker on those topics. His articles appear in a variety of journals and magazines.  Among these are:  Public Utilities Fortnightly; COSE Update; Human Resources Planning; American Management Association; HRMagazine; and Personnel Journal
